Your scuba diving course in Rome, from first breath to certification

Looking for a scuba diving course in Rome? At Top One Diving you learn to dive even if you start from zero. You begin with a free try dive in a heated pool in the EUR district, continue with theory (convenient, online) and practical sessions, all the way to the open-water dives that earn you the Open Water Diver, the first SSI certification recognised worldwide.

We’ve been a scuba school in Rome since 2010: small groups, SSI and DAN instructors always in the water with you, and a path built around your schedule. Dives take place along the Lazio coast — from Santa Marinella to the Tor Paterno Marine Protected Area — and from there you can grow with advanced, specialty and, if you wish, professional levels.

How we work

How a course runs

Concrete details on how we follow every student, from the pool to the sea.

4:1 ratio in the water

A maximum of 4 students per instructor, with a certified assistant always present: you are closely supported in every exercise.

Indoor heated pool

Practical sessions take place one evening a week in a heated pool, with our emergency oxygen unit on site.

Real sea dives

Dives take place at real Tyrrhenian sites — Santa Marinella, Civitavecchia, the Tor Paterno Marine Protected Area, the Island of Giglio — chosen according to the course and the participants’ level.

Serviced equipment included

We provide the full equipment for the course, serviced and checked. The dive computer stays personal: it’s the first piece of gear we recommend buying (find out why in the FAQ).

Safety and insurance

SSI certified training; for the Open Water course, basic DAN insurance is included in the price. At sea we rely on dive centres equipped with oxygen and first aid.

It doesn’t end with the certification

After the course you carry on with us: weekend outings, short or long weekends and trips in Italy and abroad. With the ASD membership (€30/year) you get access to all the club’s activities.
