A little further north, in Tuscany, Argentario and the Island of Giglio offer some of the finest dives of the Tyrrhenian: crystal-clear waters, expanses of gorgonians, shoals, walls plunging into the blue and wrecks. They’re weekend destinations, between the sea and good company.
Updated: August 2026
The waters of Giglio are clear and rich: posidonia meadows, expanses of red and yellow gorgonians, caves, walls and shoals. Off the tip of Cala Grande, for example, three ridges descend between 15 and 40 metres among large branches of gorgonians, lobsters, dentex up high, moray and conger eels. A spectacular seabed, suitable both for advanced divers and — in the shallower parts — for Open Water divers.
Along Argentario and towards the Island of Giannutri you’ll find shoals rich in life and wrecks for experienced divers: the Nasim (about 45–62 metres) and the Anna Bianca (about 35–55 metres) are technical dives, while shallower walls and shoals offer moray and conger eels, groupers, barracuda, scorpionfish and octopuses even at recreational depths.
Argentario and Giglio are destinations of our group weekends: transfer, guided dives and logistics organised by us, sites chosen according to levels. A weekend of real sea, a few hours from Rome. Dates and details in the calendar.
